Hi Guys
This is animation im currently working on, i was aiming to render it all with messiah, but due to some problems the rendering is now happening in xsi. The character and balloon animations are done in messiah, everything
else in xsi. i'll share the final once the rendering is done.
This is the FlipBook file:

And this is a test render for the first part

Thanks for all your comments guys, Sherif thanks for you comments as well
Apologies for writing this in english, i know it's hard for some of you here to understand, but that's the easiest way for me to describe the difference. messiah is only a character animation tool, it does have a renderer, which is a version of Arnold Renderer that was recently used in "Cloudy with the chance of meatballs"
the main advantage for using messiah over xsi is speed, this is something like using MotionBuilder, but with much greater control. messiah have been around for years, and most of the stuff that was introduced there first was then copied to other applications even xsi, like sliders and armatures. The speed of having a fully rigged character running in full frame is still far in xsi, of course in the recent XSI 2010 Autodesk claimed that NOW you can achieve almost 3 times the speed increase than before, unfortunately these increases are only apparent with the high-end quadro cards. while messiah had this ability for over 8 years now. another aspect of messiah that you can't find in any other application (with the exception of motionBuilder and previously Mirai) is the setup tab. the setup tab is where you build your rigs, it's inside the program, but it's a special state which allows you to later on add/modify or change your rigging while keeping your animation intact. of course you can achieve almost the same result with xsi using the reference objects, but like i said, to an extent.
For Groovy promo, the whole animation was done in one day, for all 3 characters, i had all 3 characters, fully rigged and i had 25fps playback rate, plus i could layer my deformation, like the melt effect that is on all of them in realtime, as well as on the numbers.
connectivity between messiah and xsi couldn't be easier, as xsi ships with internal license for PointOVen which saves and loads messiah scenes alone with object deformation from messiah or from XSI. this is a great workflow, because your xsi scene is small in size, as all deformation are stored in disk, so your playback should be fast, and if you need to make changes, just launch messiah, do your changes, back the MDD file and refresh in xsi.
hope that wasn't too technical, if you want more information head to www.projectmessiah.com and see the gallery and movie credits where messiah was used in, also head to www.setuptab.com which is the main location for messiah forums.
if you have any further question please don't hesitate to ask.

I just want to add a few things to the messiah vs xsi. The enveloping in messiah is much more robust than xsi, that may seem like a bald statement, knowing that with ICE you can introduce different skinning routines, but the default one compared to the default in xsi is much more easier and robust, and in 90% of the times you can get away without weight painting, which is not a favorite stage in the animation for everyone.
Also the expression engine in messiah is legendary, yes you can do much more complicated stuff with ICE these days, but remember messiah has had this feature since it was a plugin for lightwave, the amount of control the expression system in messiah gives is sufficient for any character animation project from any caliber.
